Protection of the landscape and culture that is central to regional identity, improvement of living conditions and economy, harmonised development…these are just some of the key discussion points on the future of the Bakuriani Township and surrounding settlements of the Borjomi Municipality.
The SUDA • Spatial and Urban Development Agency in Georgia is seeking to develop a unified vision and strategy for the development of a spatial plan for this area. As part of our work with local partners from NCD • New City Development on the development of this plan, we set out into the region to see first hand the opportunities and challenges that are central to informing the plan. It was great to have representatives from SUDA and the Bakuriani Development Agency join us.
During the visit, we took the opportunity to gather all these ideas and exchanged knowledge over sketching workshops and best of all, over shared food and traditional song.
