We were selected to participate in the ideas competition for a metropolitan vision of the Ruhr region, in collaboration with bgmr and InD, supported by a range of interdisciplinary consultants. We will join the inception workshop on May 22nd-23rd, 2013 at the SANAA Building of Zeche Zollverein in Essen.
The Ruhrgebiet, Germany's former industrial and mining region, is the largest urban agglomeration in the country and currently faces major challenges due to significant demographic and economic transformations. Five interdisciplinary teams were selected for the competition, including design offices like maxwan, urban catalyst, yellow Z, Reicher Haase Assoziierte, Kengo Kuma associates, and West 8.
